Pembrokeshire has a number of beaches and areas of coastline that are perfect for all levels of windsurfing. The shape of the coast usually means that favourable conditions can be found somewhere in the county with higher wind and surf levels particularly common outside of the summer months.
Dale is one of the best locations for windsurfing in the country and it is a perfect spot to learn with tuition and hire available at the beach. Launching here is easy and there is plenty of parking. Dale is also sheltered from the prevailing winds and the sea surface is usually smooth unless a strong Easterly is blowing. North Westerly’s can provide the ideal conditions for windsurfing on the Pembrokeshire Haven Waterway. Other areas of the Waterway frequented by windsurfers include Hazelbeach to Neyland and at Llangwm and Lawrenny.
See the map for more details on windsurfing in the Waterway.
